Biography of Stephen R. Taylor, Sole Proprietor, CPP, CFE

Mr. Stephen R. Taylor is the owner of Sunriser Security Consulting and Corporate Investigations. He has 20 plus years experience in Law Enforcement, Department of Defense and Corporate Security Program Development and Investigations.

Steve also served as a career Military Police Corps Provost Marshal, commander and staff officer to senior army commanders and commands during his 20 plus years of military service with US army. He retired in 1984 having attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (regular army). He holds the distinction of having served 13 consecutive months in command of a military police company engaged in both combat and combat support/service missions in Vietnam. Mr. Taylor has provided leadership and direct supervision to a variety of highly trained specialist in the areas of arson, homicide, rape, robbery and theft investigations.

During his service periods, Mr. Taylor served with distinction having received the Legion Merit, the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation medal with oak leaf cluster along with numerous other service awards and decorations. In 1985, Steve began his career as Security Professional and Investigator in the civilian sector. He specializes in Department of Defense, Defense Contractor Classified security programs. He possesses a thorough knowledge and background in the National Industrial Security Program formerly known as the Defense Industrial Security Program (DISP). In 1988 he transferred his skills to the industrial and commercial arenas.

Mr. Taylor was the principal architect of the corporate security program to one of the Silicon Valley's largest Fortune 500 companies. In 1993, Steve formed SunRiser Security Consulting and in 1995 he expanded his business to incorporate private and corporate investigations. He is the sole proprietor and is directly responsible for all services provided.

Steve is a Certified Protection Professional who has held the designation for nine consecutive years. He is also certified as a Certified Fraud Examiner and holds a license as a California Licensed Private Investigators. He is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security , the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners , the California Association of Licensed Investigators , the California Institute of Professional Investigators and the High Technology Crime Investigation Association, the Association of United States Army and the Retired Army Officers Association, the Global Investigators Network, and Investigators Anywhere Resource Line.
